I always wondered why some people seem to effortlessly glide through life, while others constantly battle against the tides of adversity?
The answer I found when I came across this quote:
“The seed of our happiness or suffering, misery or bliss, hell or heaven, is planted within us. The world is like a mirror, reflecting what we project. Our inner state of being influences our external experiences. Outside causes are secondary, and inside causes are primary. And unless we understand this, there is no possibility of transformation”.
The secret lies not in the external circumstances that are happening to us, but within the very core of our being. It is this #mindset shift that has power to transform our life, if only we choose to embrace it.
Think of life as a garden. In this garden, we have the power to cultivate either flowers or weeds. The choice is obviously ours. Whatever we are going cultivate and nourishing that is going grow and bear fruit. Just as a gardener tends to their plot with care and attention, we must nurture our inner landscape with the same diligence.
The seed of happiness or suffering is within us. This is not just a poetic notion but a call of action. It is call to take responsibility for our own well-being and to recognize that the world around us is reflection of our inner state.
Think about it. We have all been there. We wake up on the “wrong side of the bed,” and everything feels like an uphill battle. Maybe the coffee tastes bitter, the traffic seems thicker, and even the most minor inconvenience feels like a personal attack. Conversely, there are days where you practically skip out of bed, a smile plastered on your face. Tasks flow effortlessly, negativity seems to bounce right off you, and the world appears vibrant and full of possibility. Do you agree with that?
The beauty of this realization is that it empowers us. It tells us that we are not at the mercy of our circumstances. Instead, we have the ability to shape our experiences by mindset. This doesn’t mean that life won’t throw us curveballs; it means that we can choose how we respond to them.
How do we start each day with a positive mindset?
It begins with a #simple choice. Before you even get out of bed, take a moment to #set your intention. Choose to see the day ahead as an opportunity, not an obstacle. Fill your mind with thoughts of gratitude for the blessings in your life, no matter how small they may seem.
As you go about your day, #practice mindfulness. Be present in each moment, and when negative thoughts arise, acknowledge them and then gently guide your mind back to the place of positivity. Surround yourself with reminders of the life you want to live – whether it is through quotes, music, or the company of uplifting friends and family.
Now, this doesn’t mean ignoring real problems or sugarcoating challenges. It simply means taking control of the narrative within our own minds. We can’t control traffic jams or a rainy day or a annoying colleague, but we can control our response to them. it is about understanding that while we cannot always control what happens to us, we can control how we react to it.
As we embrace this new way of thinking, we will notice a shift. The mirror of the world will begin to reflect a brighter, more hopeful image back at you. Opportunities will present themselves where before we saw only obstacles. Relationships will flourish, and challenges will become stepping stones to growth.
Let us challenge ourselves to take this wisdom to heart. Start each day with the intention of cultivating positivity within ourselves. Let go of the belief that our happiness is dependent on external factors. Embrace the power that lies within us to create a life filled with joy and fulfillment.
Tonight, before we go to bed, write down three things we are grateful for and one positive intention for the next day. Then, when we wake up, remind ourselves of these thoughts. Let us watch how our life transforms into a beautiful reflection of our inner state.
